I'll explain later k?

So it has been well over a week since we packed up our SFA (Service Family Accommodation) and jam packed our car full of stuff we either forgot to ship… or store.

Top Tip: You can’t be a military spouse if you hate the idea of moving house… hello thats me! Man, I hate it. Pure disgust. Revolting. Sickening. HATE HATE HATE

I know I’ve spoken about moving already, so call this a bonus moving post BUT URGHHHHHHHHHHH. I’m still tired now and you know whats worse? Me having the upper body strength of a wet lettuce so I couldn’t help with the removals. Luckily Tom is Mr Strong over here and helped the two… almost elderly gentlemen pack up the vans. The removal men kept saying to us that we don’t need to help but I think if we didn’t intervene we would still be there now listenening to them both argue with each other, imagine the Chucklebrothers but if they hated eachother. I felt so useless just sitting on the carpet in my empty living room just pointing going “yeah export that… no chuck that… erm okay we will store that.”

We spent months having clear outs, selling or gifting items on the patch but removal day just uncovers more crap you forgot about. For about five minutes I was buzzing because I found my fancy christmas baubles which we thought we had orginally lost in the previous move, but then I remembered the van for “export” had already gone so now they are in storage for the next three years. I suppose I should take this as win because this now means I can buy all new Christmas decorations this year. (This next GIF is just for you Dad!)

We also mananaged to ship way under our allowance too so maybe, just maybe, I could buy everything in Walmart, Target… other retailers also available and ship this all back in three years time? A giant pumpkin, or an overly sized Candy Cane.

I am dreading to think what I’ve forgot to ship over, or what I’ve shipped instead of stored. I know it’s going to be something super important like my passport… oops! (Tom, i’ve checked, I have it.)

Tom leaves for the US in a week to get everything set up for me and our little man. I’ll let him do all the hard work so when I arrive I can just focus on unpacking (if our stuff has arrived by then!!!!!). I secretly wish I threw one of my apple AirTags into a box so I could see where our stuff is, but knowing me, i’d throw it into the boxes for storage and not shipping.

I’ve got five weeks left in the UK, time to say my goodbyes, repack my suitcases for the billionth time and stock up on Yorkshire Tea and chocolate boubons. “Do you have anything to declare?” “Yes, my love for a good cuppa and bikky”
